28726YB1948 This engine was in the generator shed at our Bach in Miro Bay, Pelorus Sound in NZ Marlborough Sounds, when we bought the Bach in 1998. It was harnessed to a 1935 Belfast Alternator to produce electricity because this area of the sounds is "Off the grid". We got it running again and making power until about 2006. We still start it from time to time so it remembers how to go. The story locally is that it lay for years, in long grass in another part of the bay, until the previous owner of our Bach made a bet over some beers that he could get it running. The then owner apparently said," If you can get it running you can have it". No-one seems to know much prior to that but the area was previously in agriculture and milling. Lots of Marlborough Sounds properties generated their power from diesel generators. I have a fairly new alternator I am intending to use it to drive. It can be crank started but we have usually started it using a Pelton Wheel off the creek N.Z.

31339YB1948 The original owner was Ron Perry who had a farm at Parkerville in the Perth Hills. He called it Boyamyne Farm and it was on Roland Road. The engine was acquired in the early ‘50s to power a pump on a dam. In the early ‘80s his farm was subdivided and fellow called David Scheele aquired the block with the dam and hence picked up the pump and engine. In recent years it made its way over to another 100 acre farm at Redhill on the Toodyay road where changed owners again. In 2018 I became the fourth owner when purchased it off Daryl as he no longer needed it.
31347YB1948
